Danforth Art School has been a wonderful resource in the past for teachers seeking professional development classes- both for pdp's and graduate credit. Now that Danforth has integrated with Framingham State University, we will no longer be able to offer classes for graduate credit. However, we do plan to continue offering high quality professional development opportunities for educators to earn professional development points to advance their careers. School staff will be working over the next months to create a program of exciting offerings designed to inspire and advance innovations in the classroom. At this time, we do not have dates available for professional development classes. Please be sure to sign up for our mailing list to be notified when this program opens again.
To ease confusion for beginning artists, all materials will be provided for the first class of all adult beginner-level classes and these students will be given guidance during their first class on which supplies to purchase for the remainder of the session.
Adult students in intermediate- or advanced-level classes, or any class without the notation above, are expected to bring supplies to their first class. Please click on "supply list" next to the class to see a recommended list.
All supplies are included for children's classes.
Danforth Art reserves the right to cancel any class, to change instructors, or to reschedule individual classes as needed. We are unable to offer make-up classes if students are absent. Full refunds will be made if a class is canceled by Danforth Art.
Students wishing to cancel a registration must contact the school. Refunds will be given as follows: if the cancellation occurs after the first class, we will refund 80% of tuition cost; after the second class we will refund 60% of the tuition cost; after the third class, there is no refund. Exceptions to this policy can be made only in the event of an emergency. Class tuition is not prorated due to student absences.
In the case of bad weather, a message will be left on our website, our Facebook page and on the School’s telephone answering system at 508-215-5115 by 8 am for morning classes, by 10 am for afternoon classes, and by 2 pm for evening classes. Whenever possible, classes will be rescheduled for the week(s) following the session on the same day and time.
Students may bring water and other closed beverages into the studios. Those taking day-long workshops may bring food items, but we cannot refrigerate or microwave items. The School Office will maintain a list of area restaurants and cafés within walking distance or a short drive from our location.
Art-making can be messy! Please dress your child accordingly. Students may bring their own aprons or smocks to wear over their clothing.
Danforth Art requires guardians to accompany children under age 14 to and from the studios on the third floor.
Please notify the School Office if the parent/guardian is going to be late or if your child will be absent from class. Danforth Art will only release a minor child Student to authorized adults listed on the Consent Form and with photographic identification. If the person picking up the minor child Student is NOT listed on this form, the parent/guardian must inform Danforth Art School in writing beforehand.
Registrations are processed through an online system used by Framingham State University. On the Danforth Art site, you will see a bar beneath each class section box with the prompt:'Register Now'.
Clicking on this will automatically open the home page for classes on the FSU registration site with the Danforth Art logo at the top. With this new system, you will be able to use the drop down menu under ‘category’ to search by adult or children’s classes.
