To ease confusion for beginning artists, all materials will be provided for the first two classes of all adult and teen beginner-level classes (noted in the class description as “Some supplies included.”) and these students will be given guidance during their first class on which supplies to purchase for the remainder of the season.
Adult students in intermediate- or advanced-level classes, or any class without the notation above, are expected to bring supplies to their first class. Classes and workshops requiring unconventional materials (household items, non-art materials, your own works in progress, etc) are additionally noted in the descriptions.
For recommendations on where to purchase art supplies, see our Class Supply Recommended Vendor List
Class Supply lists (CS) for adults are posted next to classes on these pages:
• Adult Classes
• Adult Workshops
• Teen Classes
Tuition for children’s classes includes all supplies.
Danforth Art reserves the right to cancel any class, to change instructors, or to reschedule individual classes as needed. We are unable to offer make-up classes if students are absent. Full refunds will be made if a class is canceled by Danforth Art.
Students wishing to cancel a registration must contact the school. Refunds will be given as follows: if the cancellation occurs after the first class, we will refund 80% of tuition cost; after the second class we will refund 60% of the tuition cost; after the third class, there is no refund. Exceptions to this policy can be made only in the event of an emergency. Class tuition is not prorated due to student absences.
In the case of bad weather, a message will be left on our website, our Facebook page and on the School’s telephone answering system at 508-620-0937 by 7 am for morning classes, by 10 am for afternoon classes, and by 2 pm for evening classes. Whenever possible, classes will be rescheduled by the instructor.
There is no kitchen or lunchroom, no refrigerator or microwave, available to students in our facilities. Students may bring water and other closed beverages into the studios. The School Office will maintain a list of area restaurants and cafés within walking distance or a short drive from our location.
Art-making can be messy! Please dress your child accordingly. Students may bring their own aprons or smocks to wear over their clothing.
Danforth Art requires guardians to accompany children under age 14 to and from the studios on the third floor.
Please notify the School Office if the parent/guardian is going to be late or if your child will be absent from class. Danforth Art will only release a minor child Student to authorized adults listed on the Program Consent and Release Agreement and with photographic identification. If the person picking up the minor child Student is NOT listed on this form the parent/guardian must inform Danforth Art in writing beforehand.
There will be a $10 late pick-up fee per child for the first 10 minutes late. You will be charged $5 for every 5 minutes after.
New! Registrations will now be processed through an online system used by Framingham State University. On the Danforth Art site, you will see a bar beneath each class section box with the prompt: 'Take me to the FSU Registration Pages''.
Clicking on this will automatically open the home page for classes on the FSU registration site with the Danforth Art logo at the top. With this new system, you will be able to use the drop down menu under ‘category’ to search by adult or children’s classes.
